David has extensive experience in Medicare and Medicaid issues including regulation, compliance, applications and change of ownership. His recent Medicare and Medicaid work included the successful management of the detail-intensive transition and enrollment requirements for three hospitals that recently changed ownership through acquisitions or leases handled by this firm. David believes that guiding a client through the intricate Medicare and Medicaid regulations and protecting the client’s interests requires a meticulous approach and thorough due diligence to avoid any potential CMS action.
David is also an integral member of the Baudino Litigation Team and is deeply involved in complex cases of Antitrust, Class Actions, and False Claims, including Qui Tam litigation. He is recognized within the firm for his brief writing and attention to detail.
RECENT REPRESENTATIVE MATTERS
- Chief brief writer on litigation team that successfully defended Antitrust case against a hospital client that was dismissed by the District Court, now vigorously defending on appeal against plaintiff’s claims.
- Defended home health agencies in Iowa Federal Court on action brought under the False Claims Act.
- Represented various Iowa nursing care facilities on multiple CON matters before the Iowa Health Facilities Council.
- Represented various physicians with the Iowa Board of Medicine concerning matters regarding competency, practice, and other complaints.
- Managed the Medicare and Medicaid enrollment and transition requirements following the change of ownership or lease of several hospitals.
- Managed the regulatory matters in the restructuring of the Iowa nursing facilities of a national organization.
